In 2019, the median income for an information security analyst was $99,730 per year (with less than 5 years experience) according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Meanwhile, the US median household income was $68,703 in that same year according to the US Census. You read that right. The median information security analyst earned 45% more than the median household in 2019!
Where are all these jobs? All over the United States, but the highest numbers are in Virginia, Texas, California, New York and Florida.
Cybersecurity is an exciting, future-proof career field, which offers a lot of opportunities. It can be daunting to try something new. This is especially true for career changers. However, the economic security, which the field offers may be tempting enough to get you to make the leap.
